01 About
I’m Hanz — a web developer based in the Philippines who enjoys the whole journey of a product: the first sketch, the first line of code, and the moment it finally feels right in someone’s hands.
Over the past 3+ years I’ve built responsive websites, full-stack applications, and the APIs that power them. My background in Computer Science gives me a strong foundation in algorithms, databases, and software design, while my day-to-day work keeps me close to the browser — performance, accessibility, and all the small details users feel but rarely notice.
I care about writing code that the next developer can read, interfaces that work on a five-year-old phone, and shipping on time without cutting the corners that matter. When I’m not building, I’m usually exploring new tools, contributing to side projects, or making something unnecessarily animated.
Lean pages, optimised assets, and fast APIs — because speed is a feature.
Semantic markup, keyboard support, and contrast that meets WCAG guidance.
Clear structure, sensible naming, and documentation the team can actually use.
02 Skills
From the first HTML tag to the database query behind it — here’s what I work with. I pick tools for the problem, not the hype.
Interfaces that are responsive, accessible, and genuinely pleasant to use.
APIs and server-side logic designed to be secure, predictable, and easy to extend.
Structured data, sensible schemas, and deployments that stay up when traffic arrives.
The everyday tooling that keeps work organised, reviewable, and repeatable.

03 Selected work
A mix of production systems, experiments, and interfaces. Every project here taught me something I still use.
Full-stack e-learning platform
A complete classroom platform for educators and students: subjects, lessons, quizzes, submissions, announcements, in-app store, and live video calls. I built the serverless backend and the web experience — from authentication and database schema to file storage and payments.
A hand-coded, zero-dependency site with light/dark themes, scroll-driven motion, and accessibility baked in. Built to stay fast on any connection.
A RESTful inventory service with token auth, request validation, pagination, and a tested PostgreSQL data layer. Containerised for one-command deploys.
A clean forecast interface using the OpenWeather API, geolocation, unit switching, and a cached last-known city for instant loads.
A responsive brand site for a small local café: editorial layout, scroll reveals, an image-light menu, and a reservation flow that works offline.
04 Experience & education
Three years of building real things — for clients, for teams, and for the fun of figuring out how it works.
Self-employed · Remote
Partner with small businesses and founders to design and build their web presence end to end — from requirements and wireframes to deployment and handover.
Product team · Remote
Contributed to an education platform used by students and educators, owning frontend screens and the serverless backend services behind them.
Self-taught & academic projects
Started with the fundamentals — semantic HTML, modern CSS, and vanilla JavaScript — then moved into backend development and databases through coursework and personal builds.
